Well, I decided to make a Facebook Page for my mobile development portfolio. I named the page DroidGOXiOS which just means Android for the prefix and iOS for the suffix while the middle refers to me, the developer.
All succeeding updates will be posted to the Facebook page so like the page to subscribe for new updates.

Free And Paid Versions Of Phivolcs Earthquake Alerts And DroidGOX Card Games
I recently found out that my country is now supported as a Google Wallet merchant. I have no idea when this was made available but after I read about an article regarding Google Wallet I tried to check my developer console to see if my country is now supported.
Luckily, now it is. Hence I have made both free and paid versions of my app DroidGOX Card Games and Phivolcs Earthquake Alerts.
The difference for now is that there are no ads in the paid version.

Sweep: First Card Game To Feature Gesture
Sweep is the first card game to feature gesture controls as part of the game that can help influence how high or low your score can be.
Remove cards from the board that are adjacent and match in value. When spots open up for new cards, click on the Add button
Try to use all 52 cards and clear the board. Click on two cards that are touching horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to remove them.
Use your finger to swipe up, down, left or right to push all of the cards in that direction to fill empty spots.
The more cards you remove in succession, the more each removed pair is worth. Each pair of cards removed is worth 1,000 multiplied with the streak.
If you shift the cards, you lose 1,000 points. Each time you add more cards, you lose 1,000 points. If you use all the cards and clear the board, you get a 5,000 extra score.

New Landscape Based Card Games: Total 11 & Mathematics
I never considered making any landscape based card games until after I added a feature in my mobile game DroidGOX Card Games to have leaderboard via Google Play Games and finding out that All in 15 is a top hit because of its easy game play.
So the first games to be featured in landscape mode is Total 11 and Mathematics. Both games are very easy to play.
In Total 11, you pick any number of cards that add up to 11. Jacks, 10s, Queens and Kings are considered 10 in value so make sure you pick cards selectively to get as many points as possible. The more cards that add up to 11 the more points you get to score.
In Mathematics, 2 cards given to you will be considered the value you need to add up by using 7 available cards and using mathematical equations to get the desired result.
These 2 games are not time based so take your time and plan your cards accordingly.
Enjoy!

DroidGOX Card Games New Logo & Google Play Service Support
I just released a new version of my app DroidGOX Card Games with Google Play Service support. Now you can challenge your friends and every other Google+ user around the world to be on top of the leaderboads.
Plus, I decided to change the logo of the app since the original one sucked.
What do you think of this now? Better, right?
I hope the leaderboard feature will entice you to play the app even more. I will be adding more new games, ones that have a good probability to clear the game and base solely on getting a higher score compared to clearing the game in as less time as possible.

New App Phivolcs Quake Updates
Hi all, I just released a new app calle Phivolcs Quake Updates. This app displays the same data that can be found in the Phivolcs (Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology) website. It provides a better medium to read updates regarding earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic activities rather than use a web browser and view it in a small device.
This app is in no way affiliated with Phivolcs so if data in their website changes, the app may not work correctly. The moment this will happen, please send a report so the developer can make the necessary changes and fix the issues.
The app only retrieves the latest few entries rather than getting all of them which amounts to more than a year's worth of record entries. If you wish to view all of them, please go to their website instead.
I decided to make this app after that deadly quake hit Bohol in the Philippines a few months ago. It was tedious going to the Phivolcs site and browsing for updates in my smart phone. The screen is pretty small and it is a hassle typing URLs so this app should alleviate that limitation and hassle.

DroidGOX Card Games New UI
I forgot to put up a post regarding this but DroidGOX Card Games now features a new user interface where there is more space in the gaming area and other game features are placed elsewhere to make it compact.
The timer is now in the bar below near the lower right and selecting a new game will have to be accessed from the sliding menu.
This will relieve some users the trouble of finding out how to select a different game unlike before where you had to long press the NEW button in order for the popup menu to appear.
I am sure you are exposed to sliding menus now. Facebook and other well known apps seemed to have made this a standard.
Happy playing!
New Game Added: Auld Lang Syne
Auld Lang Syne is a solitaire card game which is played with a deck of 52 playing cards. It is a game which is somewhat akin to Sir Tommy, except in the dealing of the deck.
First, the four aces are separated from the rest of the deck and placed on the layout as the foundations. The object of the game is to build each of the foundations from Ace to King regardless of suit.
Four cards are dealt below the aces, each starting a tableau pile. The player then determines if any of the four cards can be build on the foundations. In this first deal of four (and in succeeding deals), when a card is played and leaves a gap, it is not filled until the next deal.
Furthermore, there is no building or playing in the tableau. When the players has built all the cards in the foundation as one can, or if the cards cannot be played at all, a new set of four cards is dealt, one over each tableau pile.
This process is repeated until all cards are dealt. There is no redeal.
The game is won when all cards are built onto the foundations. This is rare as, according to Morehead and Mott-Smith's The Complete Book of Solitaire and Patience Games, it can be achieved once in 100 games.

New Game Added: Clock Patience
Clock patience, also known as clock solitaire is a solitaire card game with
the cards laid out to represent the face of a clock.
One deck of cards minus the joker is used. The deck is shuffled and twelve piles
of four cards each are laid out, face down, in a circle. The remaining four
cards are placed, also face down, in a pile in the centre of the circle.
The twelve positions around the circle represent the 12 hour clock and the
pile in the middle represent the hands.
Play starts by turning over the top card of the central pile.
When a card is revealed, it is placed face up under the pile at the
corresponding hour (i.e. Ace = 1 o'clock, 2 = 2 O'clock, etc. The Jack is 11
o'clock and the Queen is 12 o'clock) and the top card of the pile of that hour
is turned over. If a King is revealed, it is placed face down under the central
pile.
Play continues in this fashion and the game is won if all the cards are
revealed. The game is lost if all four Kings are revealed and face down cards
are still present.
Clear the game with as less time as possible.

New Game Added: All In 15
I did not expect to make more games but I got bored at some point this month that I decided to add a new one.
It also helped when I checked my app's stats that there are a number of users who installed it which caught me by surprise because I never expected that kind of statistic to keep the app game in their devices.
So the new game is called All In 15.
The game is very easy to play. All it takes is a little mathematical addition. The point of the game is to clear the board in as little time as possible.
Cards are laid out in a 4x4 layout with the extra cards hidden at the top left of the screen.

DroidGOX Widget: Birthday Has Reached 5,000 Installs
After just a few months and even less than a year, my widget app called DroidGOX Widget: Birthday had surpassed 5,000 installs.
While the number of activations or devices using the app is not the same, it still made me feel good knowing that users opted to try and check out my birthday widget.
It may not look to be the best of a user interface considering that I am not into graphics that much unlike when I was still in college, but the birthday widget actually does its job pretty well.
It sends an alert notification whenever one of your contact's birthday is up. You can then either send a text message, call or email your friend.
Simply widget. And it is free! The download link is located in the right sidebar of this blog.
Thank you to all the users who installed and uses this app.

Tower Of Hanoi Now Available In DroidGOX Card Games
I have just released the second game of my DroidGOX Card Games collection called Tower of Hanoi. Yes, you know this game pretty well. Does the image below look familiar?
Instead of this one, the game features cards from numbers 1 to 9. The suit for the cards is determined when the first card of either 1 to 9 is dealt.
As for the game play itself, it is the same as the original. You make sure that cards are laid out from 9 to 1 in any of the columns.
Sounds easy but once you hit it off, your patience will be tested. The top 10 list is determined by how long you finish the game.
Good luck and enjoy the new game! You can download it in this [Tower of HanoiLINK]

DroidGOX Card Games Now Live
Finally, I just published a new game app called DroidGOX Card Games. This app features a collection of card games that are common and unique.
The games in this app are actually games that I made as Java applets way before and I thought I would try making an Android game just to have an idea how it works.
This app is the product of that curiosity.
The first card game featured in this app is Pyramid Solitaire. Try to clear the pyramid and the stacks as fast as you can to be part of the top 10 highest times.
Currently I am working on finishing Tower of Hanoi so I hope you will enjoy these games.
Yes, I know. These are simple card games and card games are not really addictive. But they can be great complements to killing some time.
If you notice, the graphics are simple. If you wish to contribute your creativity to make the app better looking, drop me a comment here and we'll talk. Your name and info will be included in the INFO section of the app
[CLICK HERE] to go to the app's Google Play page.
The app does not include any ads because I know how annoying ads can be. At least show your appreciation by giving a 5 star rating and give a +1 to the page. Thank you!
Enjoy the game(s)!

DroidGOX Card Games Coming Soon
I have been slowly developing my own version of Pyramid Solitaire. Actually, it was out of boredom that I thought I might see how Android gaming can be done even in its simplest forms.
I decided to convert one of my card game Java applets to an Android app. Then again, I thought if I freely publish this app for free it will still be boring because I am sure there are many variations of Pyramid Solitaire app out there in Google Play.
So it was then that I thought I name my app DroidGOX Card Games to feature a variety of card games. Considering that I made so many different card games as applets, it would be nice to have them as an Android app. Having many games can keep the user interested using the app.
Since I will be doing this in my spare time if I do not have anything else to do, I will only finish the first card game for now.
The other games will follow depending on the time (which I cannot tell) or if generous donors will gladly donate some PayPal moolah which can inspire me to work on more games and slowly add them 1 by 1 to the app. Till then, stay tuned!
